6:40 - 7:30 PM. Beginners from Scratch West Coast Swing Topics: right & left side passes, push break, push & tuck & turns, whip, basket, & starter step. (half price, if you've taken an entire series of beginner wcs with me before)

7:30 - 8:20 PM. All Levels West Coast Swing Musicality: hitting the breaks, resolution/tonic note, and accents  (must know the basics)   Topics: we'll take move's variations and learn how to shape them to different types of music.

8:20 - 9:10 PM Intermediate West Coast Swing (must know the basics & and turning technique) Topics: wraps, rock & go, behind the back whips, bending the track, forced & passive tucks, followers delay & go, rolling count, and stretching/elasticity

9:00 - 10 PM. Dance/practice session. I'll dj and play a variety of music (I take request) Beside playing music, I'll help dancers with anything we covered in class and I love to dance with my students. $2.00 per week.

Cancelation policy: Notification of canceled classes will be updated on my website by 5PM (usually bad driving conditions). Make up classes will be added to the end of the series.   

Steve Ryan is a professional dancer who has been dancing for more than 25 years, and has won numerous dance competitions throughout that time in jazz, theatre arts, hustle & west coast swing. He also won a full scholarship to the studios of Alvin Ailey in NYC. He is an advanced level dancer on the national swing circuit.  He also danced a feature role in the Sleeping Beauty Ballet in February 2005. He has choreographed many swing dance routines that were performed by class members at local dances and at the Syracuse Symphony. He trained in Los Angeles with national champions in 2003. He’s a firm believer in strong technique. He also just finished a teaching tour in New Zealand and Australia in 2007. He is founder of The Syracuse Swing Dance Society. He recently won the Syracuse edition of Dancing with The Stars in 2010.  Visit: www.steveryandance.com
